Koos.io is hiring its first engineers!

Koos.io is a reward token platform to share your company´s future value with everyone who helped.

Koos.io is an API-first company, enabling our customers to share the future value of their company with their customers/fans/advisors. We do this via setting up a reward program around the promise we design with the customers, after which the customer integrates the program using our API with their own onboarding/referral/loyalty/retention flows in their application(s).

We keep the ledger on the promises, sort out all the legal and accounting nuances and finally proceed with all the payouts. For example three of the early eight customers are offering tokenized equity as a reward for using or providing the services on the marketplace they provide. So in a sense we are a vehicle for building DAOs in the real world.

The company is well funded, we just closed the seed round of 4M. Our backers include Sten Tamkivi, Taavet Hinrikus, Markus Villig and Kaarel Kotkas. First version of the product is in the hands of the paying customers. But at best our product stack is currently at MVP stage, being built by an outsourced team. We are building the engineering in-house, hiring the first product engineers and the real work in product engineering is just getting started!

We have 2 engineering positions open.

You will be chiming in to help the company build out and implement the strategy around leveraging blockchain to:

  • Build trust for customers and token recipients demonstrating that the tokenomics adopted is not vendor locked to a particular company
  • Enable early liquidity for the token holders
  • Figure out how to support different liquidity enablement means (pooling, collateralizing) for individual tokens on the blockchain

Truth be told, we currently just have a gut feeling that the blockchain will have a crucial role in the solution we build, but you will discover that there is nothing in place when you join. Floor is yours! You are a good match if you:

  • have 5+ years of engineering experience
  • have a hacker mindset
  • run multiple blockchain nodes in your own servers
  • have mined and collateralized coins yourself
  • own a cool cat picture in your Metamask wallet that you bought using far too much ETH
  • know the differences between Polygon, Velas and Avalanche by heart
  • tend to annoy “normies” with your recent crypto adventures
  • But deeply inside you feel shallow. There must be something other than cat pictures and ponzi schemes that this amazing technology can be used for. This is your chance!

Together with CTO/CPO you will be responsible for designing and building the architectural backbone of the entire offering. This is a hands-on role, do not expect to wear white gloves for the first 12 months.

We expect you to have

  • 10+ years of software development experience, at least five of which are in Java
  • been working with product organizations before, preferably in early growth stage
  • managed a team of engineers from technical perspective. The team can be small, we are looking for your abilities to decompose and delegate

Every box you can tick from below will simplify your life here, but if you can tick at least two of the following, we should already be an excellent match. You:

  • understand how to utilize devops culture and implement on-call routines
  • have played around in the web3/crypto world. It is OK to be sceptic, we are not a bunch of crypto heads here.
  • know how to implement control mechanisms around KYC/AML/other regulations
  • can set up a security perimeter and keep us "almost" safe for the next 12 months to come
  • know why and when to start setting up the separate platform team
  • enjoy working with the product org, acknowledging that there are unknowns in the early phases of the company
  • know how to set up and govern a fully automated CI/CD flow, requiring no human touch during the build-test-release pipeline.

So if you do believe in the vision of the company and want to make it happen, we offer 8,000-10,000EUR (gross) salary for the position. In addition, early equity via option program is included in the offer.  The position is not fully remote, we expect you to be physically present in either our Tallinn or Tartu office (in Estonia) for at least two days a week.
